Here is the brand new video for Fairewell’s song ‘Others Of Us’, one of the highlights of his recent debut album ‘Poor, Poor Grendel’, which is of course still available in the Sonic Cathedral Shop for very reasonable £7.
The video was made by Fairewell – aka Johnny White – and follows in the hoofsteps of his heartbreaking ovine promo for ‘Born Under A Bad Sign’. Its multiple overlaid images echo the lyrics of the song, which Johnny explains like this: “I normally write and record lyrics in one go in a daze/panic. ‘Others Of Us’ was slightly different, I had that in my head for a long time. I’ve always felt like there was a version of myself that lives on trains and I activate that version when I go on the train. That’s what that’s about, but it’s maybe not a key theme.”
Fairewell plays London shows at The Lexington on January 18, as support to Diagrams, and follows that with a Sonic Cathedral headline show at The Social on February 13, with support from Crushed Beaks.
