Here’s our latest Broad Church mix, as broadcast on Strangeways Radio last night. It’s inspired by Danny Boyle’s mindblowing Olympic opening ceremony and Team GB’s astonishing performances. Morrissey will hate it.
“Blustering jingoism” aside, there are some great tunes on here – some taken from Underworld’s soundtrack to Isles Of Wonder, while Walls, Siinai and Kraftwerk keep the Olympic flame burning. Oh, and there’s the ace Hot Chip remix of Caribou. It all concludes with a mix of Blanck Mass’s ‘Sifted Gold’ and commentary of Daley Thompson’s decathlon win in Los Angeles back in 1984 (not this one). Now, all rise for the national anthem…
