Finally we can reveal the ‘Psych For Sore Eyes’ EP in its full glory. When we announced it late last year we said it would be the best-looking record of 2013 and we weren’t lying. The good folk of Heretic have done an incredible job.
But you can’t just judge a record by its screen printed and hand-folded cover, or even its 3D glasses. There are six incredible tracks spread across the two slabs of vinyl and here’s the opener courtesy of the mighty Hookworms…
The one small bit of bad news is that, as a result of unprecedented demand, we’ve already sold out of the vinyl in the Sonic Cathedral Shop, but when we last checked Piccadilly, Norman and Rough Trade were still taking pre-orders. If you are more digitally inclined, the EP is also available via iTunes and Bandcamp.
Anyone pre-ordering the vinyl or the Bandcamp download will be invited to the launch party, which takes place at Red Gallery in Rivington Street, London EC1 on Thursday, February 21. Hookworms play live, with very special guests Zeroset (that’s The Early Years under a different name, in case you were wondering) and Younghusband, plus guest DJs Jamie Putnam and Chris Reeder from Rocket Recordings. Heretic will be installing various elements of the artwork around the venue to ensure the evening will be as multidimensional as possible. And if all that isn’t enough to entice you out, because it’s a private party you can actually bring your own booze.
There are also a limited number of tickets for the night available from this secret link.

Just got to say this looks amazing – and seriously cannot wait for this to arrive. Cannot praise you enough!
How does that invite to the gig work? I’ve pre-ordered the download but there’s no mention of anything extra in the confirmation
you will get an email – please be patient
…and thanks Dave C!
Damn, it’s sold out at all those places too.
