Younghusband‘s debut album ‘Dromes’ is out today (September 16). To celebrate they are playing a free show tonight in Rough Trade East and then head over to The Social to DJ at our sold-out Dead Meadow show.
‘Dromes’ is an incredible record from the Heretic-designed artwork to the very last second of flickering feedback from the closing title track – and thankfully it seems like we’re not the only ones who think so.
Here are some of the nice things that have been said about ‘Dromes’:
“Younghusband have made the echoes of 1988 sound truly refreshing in 2013” – Louder Than War
“Joe Meek atmospherics, classic shoegaze from 1991, a dash of C-86’s shambolics and the blankness of post-punk” – The Line Of Best Fit
“A psych-leaning LP that pulses and frazzles” – Drowned In Sound
“As with sonic relatives The Jesus And Mary Chain and The Brian Jonestown Massacre, Beatles melodies bloom beneath the distortion” – NME
“Dromes is self-assured, brave and focused… What else can you really ask for on a debut release?” – The 405
‘Dromes’ is available now, digitally from iTunes (with exclusive bonus track ‘Goodbye Reservoir’), Amazon, Bandcamp and all major download retailers.
