Mark Peters has announced three live shows around the release of the expanded version of his debut solo album, Innerland.
The first takes place on Good Friday (March 30) and is a hometown gig at The Old Courts in Wigan, where Mark will be soundtracking the Bring Your Own Beamer event, which sees a number of local visual artists projecting their work into the dark theatre space. Doors open at 9.30pm and there will be DJs until 2am. This show is especially relevant, as it was Mark’s return home to Wigan that inspired the songs that make up Innerland and all the songs – including the new single ‘May Mill’ – are named after local places and landmarks.
The next show takes place at The Salty Dog in Northwich on Saturday, April 28. Doors are at 8pm, entry is free and support is from Sonic Trip Project.
The last of the three dates sees Mark return to The Social in London on Wednesday, May 2. For one night only he will be accompanied by Ulrich Schnauss and the special guest DJ for the evening is Justin Robertson, who was the first person to play one of Mark’s solo tracks last year on his excellent Temple Of Wonders show on Soho Radio. Tickets are on sale here.
Innerland is released on April 20. We sold out of pre-order copies on vinyl, but we do still have some CDs. You can still grab vinyl from any of the following: Rough Trade, Piccadilly, Norman, Five Rise, Drift, Beatdown, Record Store, Juno and many more.
